Dhaka Stock Exchange launches and goes live with its new surveillance system InstantWatch Market from Trapets.
The Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Prof. M Khairul Hossain yesterday inaugurated InstantWatch Market as chief guest at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). “The installation of the software will enhance the capacity of the DSE to detect suspicious transactions” he said.
From now on DSE are provided with a powerful and state-of-the-art market surveillance system that analyzes all financial transactions in real time and issue alerts about suspicious market abuse and other trading irregularities and practices.
“The launching of the surveillance software is a remarkable day for the country’s stock market as it is a big step forward to establish an accountable and transparent stock market” said the DSE President Ahsanul Isam Titu.
BSEC has since December 2012 been using Trapets surveillance system, InstantWatch Market. Since then, 44 different types of manipulation have been detected.
“Having the same sort of surveillance software at the DSE and BSEC will create opportunities to work more closely to tackle manipulation in the capital market” said Prof M. Khairul Hossain.
“We are proud to announce that we have completed the implementation project to Dhaka Stock Exchange and that it now officially goes live. Being the market leader of market surveillance systems in Bangladesh is honourable, it proves that our system holds top international class”, said Gunnar Wexell, chairman at Trapets AB (Sweden).
